What do you do when you are in Alaska? Alaska is known to have 3000 rivers and 3 million lakes. And, 17 of the 20 highest peaks in the US is in Alaska. This shows us that there are many things to see and do in Alaska. Below are some of the great adventures you can experience while in Alaska.
You might be interested in visiting the Mendenhall Glacier. You can stay in the visitor’s center overlooking the glacier. It is warm here and you get a sheltered view of the glacier. Taking the trails will give you a close look at the glacier and some local wildlife.

Denali Nationla park is another attraction in Alaska. It is 20,310 feet and is the highest peak in North America. Wolves, grizzlies, caribous, Dall sheep, mise and more live in this park. You can also see natural sights like tundras, beautiful lakes and rivers, and unique geological formations.
Has the northern lights intrigued you? Then this is you chance to do so. You can simply gaze up and marvel at the northern lights on a clear night. This experience is a once-in-a-life time one.
You can also go biking along the Cook Inlet Arm which is a long coastal trail. It is really worth trying this biking experience which you can complete in a whole day.
If you are interested in marine life, then the Kenai Fjords Day Cruise is for you. Here you will see puffins, otters, orcas, harbor seals, Minke whales, Dall’s porpoises, and more. You can capture incredible mountain scenes and tideware glaciers with your camera.
The Sitka National Historical Park is the oldest national park in Alaska. You will find a lot of information here about totem poles, native artifats, beaches, and temperate rainforests.
The Aurora Ice Museum displays great ice sculptures. You can find nightly aurora shows in their vintage theater.
You should not miss salmon fishing while in Alaska. You can catch your salmon dinner from several Alskan river banks. Either to join a salmon charter or fish on your own with a license from the Alaska Dept of Fish and Game.
There are other things to do in Alaska like visiting the ghost town of Kennicott and Wrangell St Elias National Park, seeing the shifting sands of Kobuk Valley National Park, and visiting the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, but the activities mentioned above is enough to entice you to come and visit Alaska.
